Let me tell you about the newest product I reviewed, a membership to ABC Teach. ABC Teach is a website full of printables. They offer over 5000 pages FREE. So why would you want to buy a 1 year membership? Because ABC Teach has over 30,000 more printables available to members. Not only that, they add new materials every week!
This website is so extensive I’ve found things for all of my children to do, and tons more that will fit with our homeschool plans for the next several years. There is a great Introductory Video to show you more.
Some of the printables I have plans for include:
- I Spy cards for the Grocery Store
- File Folder games
- Tons of cards to use with workboxes
- Dot to dot pictures using letters instead of numbers. Great for my preschoolers!
- Unit studies ready to print on topics like pirates, music, and transportation.
- Learning Centers
- Clip Art (we’ll use for lapbooks and coloring)
I know those all sound like elementary age materials, and they are, but please be sure to check out ABC Teach if you have middle or high school students. There are some materials there for older ages(including sections on social studies, science, logic, and foreign languages). ABC Teach also takes suggestions for new materials you would like to see added to the site.
Another thing ABC Teach has is an amazing selection of tools to create customized materials. You can make bingo cards, math pages, crosswords, shape books for lapbooking or notebooking(how about one shaped like your state?), spelling pages where the child finds the right spelling from a few possibilities for each word, handwriting pages in several font styles, and more tools for more possibilities. Makayla will be doing a crossword puzzle on skunks this week. Joseph and Emma got handwriting pages customized to their interest – Joseph’s says “May the force be with you” from Star Wars.
You can purchase a 1 year membership for $40.00. I think ABC Teach is a great investment. If they do not already have a worksheet or printable activity on the topic you are studying this week you can make your own with their ABC Tools. Many of the printables can be used in a hands-on way, just add some scissors let a kinesthetic child create with the work they do. And for the child who loves to do worksheets or be included with the bigger kids ABC Teach is a goldmine.
The only down side to ABC Teach? The amount of toner and paper I’ll be using as I add fun and learning to our workboxes!
Be sure to check out all the freebies on ABC Teach to help you decide if a membership is right for your family.
