Books are treasures at our house. We love to curl up with them by the stack alone or as a family. The public library is wonderful, but there is something fulfilling about having your very own books. Today our family field trip took us into the city for the local Half-Price Books store. We set a budget of $100.00 and came home with 33 books and $25.00 left over.
That is an average of $2.28 per book, though we had some that were fifty cents, and one was $7.98. Each of the children was given a portion of the budget ($8.00 each) to choose their own books. I thought I would share a list of what we brought home.

How fun! I love a good deal! My favorite way to find good books cheap is at yard sales. Can't beat brand new books for a quarter.
Love Half Price Books! We went last Monday and got a ton of the books on my list for the upcoming "year" for only $30. And the girls love being able to pick out any book they want -- with those prices, there is very little that I will say no to, if they really want it :-)
Wow sounds like a great store!!!!
I wish we had a store like this in my STATE let alone nearby! ;-) Books are so my downfall. Great finds! I loved how you let all the kids pick some for themselves too.
Wow! What a deal!
