Things on My To Do List

hourglass_fancy  We all come to those moments when we seem to be running out of time.  It may be an upcoming holiday, birthday, or moving day.  For some reason the last two days I have really felt like I’m running out of time before this baby is born.  Now, as of tomorrow I still have 8 weeks to my due date.  I’ve had my babies as much as 2 weeks early or 2 weeks late, so in as little as 6 weeks Caleb could realistically arrive.  I’ve sat today listing out all those things that I still want or need to get done before Caleb arrives.  Would you like to see part of my list?

  • Give Daddy and the boys haircuts.
  • Restock pantry, make sure we have ingrediencts for easy meals, snacks.
  • Buy birthday presents for the 3 birthdays between now and Christmas.
  • Buy Christmas presents – there is no way I’ll be shopping in December, so it needs finished by the end of Oct.  Thankfully, we keep this pretty simple.
  • Get the crib set up, bedding washed.
  • Get the baby boy clothes out, washed.
  • Check kids’ shoe sizes, find boots for everyone, etc.  Some are probably ready to move up in size.
  • Remove blinds on 14 windows (most are broken in some places thanks to dear boys).
  • Put up curtain rods and curtains.  Of course I need to measure windows and go shopping for clearance curtains first…LOL.
  • Switch out kid clothes for the fall/winter season.
  • Return all library books.
  • Finish up doctor checkups and dentist cleanings for those who need them.  Um, that means I should probably schedule them, right?

Okay, so there you have most of my list.  I know I can get it all done if I don’t wait until the last minute.  Now I just need to figure out where to begin!

What things are on your to do list?

Your to-do list looks a lot like mine... to simplify my life we got an Amazon Prime membership, which gives you free 2 day shipping for a year... I get all gifts and most of my homeschooling materials via Amazon and never pay shipping. The membership is $70, and EASILY pays for itself.

I have a very long list which is uncannily similar to yours! ;) I am not taking any blinds down, but I need to hem a pair of curtains and sew another pair from scratch for the boys' room. And Daddy won't let me cut his hair (he's particular!) but I need to do the boys' hair.

The main thing on my mental list is to actually START making written lists! I have 11 weeks to go until Samuel is due and usually start making lists around this time, but I haven't yet. Just the thought that I haven't started listing things is beginning to make me fidgetty! I have a LOT to do. I too wanted to get Christmas wrapped up by the end of October, and birthdays up to January shopped for.

It's so much fun planning for a new baby! It's easy for it to become stressful if it doesn't happen early enough or go smoothly enough. But it's so much fun all the same! :)

A long list for one so far along in her pregnancy. I have a HUGE list and I won't bore you here, but curtains and haircuts for my boys are also on there, as well as dentist and doctor appointments. I have others, but I am not pregnant and don't have a "deadline".

HAHA! I'm laughing becuase my list is almost exactly the same. Pretty much the only thing I don't have to do is get ready for a baby or get new curtains. I think I'm going to do those haircuts between sessions tomorrow.
