Okay, I have a lot of reviews this year that don’t really fit into one subject area, so this post is going to have a mix. In completing this series I have noticed that we have not reviewed a single science item this year. I had not realized that! If you click on the title of each item in this post it will take you to my original review.
Schleich – Who doesn’t like animals? At my house these toys have been a hit. The children still love their animals and I still love how realistic these hand-painted toys are. Not one has broken in months of hard use either! I highly recommend these toys.
Speekee TV – This one you read my review of recently too. Spanish has never been more fun at my house. We are still enjoying Speekee every day. We love it!
Coin Purse Kit from Corp of Rediscovery – The coin purse is still holding up well and when we come back around to American history in a few years I will be buying some more of the kits they offer.
PG Key – We uninstalled PG Key after the review period was over. It simply does not do what we want in a parental control for our computers.
KB Teacher subscription – While I have printed off the anatomy pages for our current unit, I still do not like this site’s lack of a search button or a save feature. It annoys me enough that I rarely attempt to find a worksheet on their site, as a quick search of the internet is much easier.
Wits and Wagers game – Well, after misunderstanding the rules and disliking this game originally, I’ll be completely honest – we’ve not tried it again. We have a lot of board games and the kids never ask for this one. Maybe when they’re a bit older….
Peter and the Wolf from Maestro Classics – I reviewed this one recently and I still highly recommend these CDs. They’re a neat mix of classical music and story, one my children really enjoyed.
Pending Reviews:
I also have two reviews I’ve not mentioned that are still pending, so I’ll give you a sneak peek.
Roman Town from Dig-It games – Do you have a child who is interested in archeology or ancient Rome? This computer game combines archeology, games, and information for a fun and educational time. We’ve enjoyed this. Our review is coming February 4th (next week!).
Hey Andrew, Teach Me Some Greek level 1 – An unexpected review item, we had never considered learning Greek. Makayla has been the one using this product, though Joseph probably could have done it with help. This review won’t come out until April 29th, so you’ll have to be patient to see what we think.
That brings me to the end of my Looking Back on Reviews series. I suspect there will be some more review items assigned to our family soon, but for now we’re enjoying what we have. In the mean time why don’t you tell me some of your favorite curricula or feel free to ask a question about what we like.
