A Limerick for Homeschool Mothers

I had fun this morning and thought I would share what happened.  I was reading this post at We Talk of Christ, We Rejoice in Christ.  It is a giveaway and one of the possible entries is to write a limerick and share it in the comments.  I had a few free moments and so I looked up what a limerick is.  (Yeah, it is one of those things my public school education didn’t teach well enough for me to remember it…Ahem) .  Anyway, the big points I focused on were having lines 1,2,5 rhyme, and lines 3, 4 rhyme.  Here’s my limerick, which was fun to write; it is a gentle reminder for homeschool mothers:

A homeschool mom is so busy.
Teaching until she gets dizzy.
Take time to play
with your children each day.
That’s how you'll enjoy all the tizzy!

I hope you remember to take time to just play with your children today.  We’re heading to a doctor’s appointment soon (just a check up) and then I’m going to come home and play with my children.  Academics can wait for a while.

Have a great day!

Again, may I say you rock!

Now I am trying to think of a limerick about today. It was such a stressful, horrific day (which ended with love from my kids-- God is so good with his saving grace..... on their behalf and mine!!!). I've got it started but am struggling with how to end it positive and what would rhyme with "I'm not a creature who eats her young."

:)
