I Know Something They Don’t . . .

100_5936“You can see their eyes sorta bug out,” says Emma,
“Like this!”

Sometimes I wonder what people think.  You know, those moments when you can see their eyes sorta bug out as you walk past with a baby in arms and five little ones trailing behind you at the doctor’s office or the grocery store.  Then I start laughing like a crazy woman because I know something they don’t . . .

. . . there’s another baby growing in my tummy due to arrive in January!

God has decided to bless us with another baby and we’re thrilled!  While parenting is more challenging than any paid job I’ve ever done it comes with the best benefits:  Sleepy snuggles, slobbery kisses, and sticky fingers sneaking the last cookie off your plate.

God says children are a blessing – He’s right!

No wonder you are toning town your responsabilities with the Crew :) We are pregnant again too, due Christmas Eve, and I was just wondering when is a good time to post it. 10 weeks? 12? How have you been feeling? The last 4 weeks have been really tough for me :( Anyway, great news! Hugs,

Alina - Yay! Congratulations to you too. The early months are always hard. For me it is usually a combination of morning sickness and throwing up with lots of being exhausted. The morning sickness has already started this time...but no throwing up yet. Maybe this time will be better? haha.

They say we are more nauseous with girls than with boys, has that been true in your case? With so many children, you can be a case study :) I have tons tons tons of nausea and exhaustion, moreso than with either of my girls, so the only explanation is that I am getting an even girlier girl :)

Congratulations! That is great news.

Don't let the (unfortunately inevitable) comments from people who don't understand get you down...

Thanks everyone!

Alina - Honestly, through my 4th I would have said I was more nauseous with my girls. Then #5 and 6 had it worse than any of the others combined(both boys), especially my 6th. I was actually throwing up and on medication to help stop that for him.

Here is what I suspect - the older I am the more my body is affected by the hormones of pregnancy.

Congratulations! So exciting! While there are only 3 kids in my family, I grew up around so many large family that 6+ kids isn't really large to me. You need to be in the double digits for me to consider you a really large family lol. I always love when I tell someone about one of my friends who is one of 7 or 9, or for one friend 13. Their reactions crack me up.

Congrats! Thanks for being so inspiring! I too enjoy marching through various places with my 5. We stand out even more right now because we live VERY near the border of Mexico. People are always wanting to touch my Kiddos blonde hair and blue eyes!

Congratulations!

I've come to find looks or comments from others rather amusing. (And I only have 4) My favorite was the woman who watched me get in the car with my children, and asked me if I was competing with the Duggars. I wanted to laugh so hard. I only wish I was the kind of mom who could have even half the children they have.

Best wishes through these early months.
