Mommy Reading Booklist

I’ve been making time to do some reading for me.  None of this is related to homeschooling my children, and it’s rather fun to be diving into topics that mean so much to me as a wife and mom.  I have a stack from my library as well as several on my Kindle.  If there is a * after the author’s name I am currently reading the book, if not then it is on my desk or in my Kindle waiting to be started.  Links are to the Kindle version if available, those are cheaper and instantly ready to read at purchase (remember, you can use the FREE Kindle for PC application if you buy Kindle books and don’t own a Kindle).

My husband and I attended a Sunday School class focused on Shepherding a Child's Heart. We both enjoyed the class and the solid biblical principles.

read simplicity parenting and 5 love languages. just about to re-read them both! 5 love languages is REALLY wonderful, insightful and has already changed the way i interact with my kids--for the better.
another recommendation--The Power of a Positive Mom by Karol Ladd. well written, concrete examples and suggestions, lots of scriptural refs as well.

I have read "One Thousand Gifts", the love languages of children book, and Tedd Tripp's book. I really enjoyed all three. The Tedd Tripp book was really a very insightful parenting book for me!

Tristan, just a quick book recommend for you. Amish Midwife by Mindy Sterns Clark. Great quick read. Very good. Also you have inspired Nate and I to simplify. We are having our first ever yard sale. Ah to have my floors back. Andi

Shepherding a Child's Heart was so good, I need to put Tripp's new Instructing a Child's Heart on my summer reading list. Thanks for reminding me! Great list, btw. Happy reading! - LA
