Yes, that is Carmel Popcorn! We are having a lot of fun with the Hoppin Popcorn DNG this week. I made a deal with my children that we would make something with popcorn every other day this week. Today was caramel popcorn. While there are many recipes that involve cooking up your own caramel, we went the easy route. After air popping some popcorn we melted these caramel bits with a little water in the microwave:
Spread the popcorn on a cookie sheet and drizzle the caramel over top, then let it cool (we put it in the refrigerator to expedite the process). It was a sticky, delicious snack after family scripture study tonight!
What is your favorite popcorn recipe? ? ?

i used to make carmel corn all the time. i went the cheap route with corn syrup and brown sugar (i think there may have been another ingredient in there, but it's been so long since i last made it that i forget). It's especially fun to use granulated sugar and add food coloring to get fun colors.
Nowadays, i just get the microwavable simply salted or homestyle flavors. If you need ideas, i have a book that has some popcorn seasoning mix recipes that i'd be happy to share.
O no! Dare I try this book out! My kids LOVE popcorn, though I am not much of a fan. DH has made popcorn balls with them...this looks like lots of fun, so I may just give it a try! (might as well make it educational, right?? lol)
ohhh that looks neat!!!!!
I have a popcorn popper where you can use any kind of spice with it, so I usually mix the corn with something different every time: oil and salt, paprika and sugar, garlic salt, anything! We love all combinations and I make the family try to guess what's in it :) Now we buy organic, local New Jersey corn and it makes for a healthy and cheap snack.
Oh yum! I may have to try this!
We did a similar popcorn treat for FHE this week. I spread out the popcorn, sprinkled some mini marshmallows over the top. Then I melted pink vanilla flavored wafers from Hobby Lobby and drizzled that over the top. While I drizzled the girls sprinkled colored sugar. Decadent but easy. And the leftovers placated them while at the doctor's office the next day!
