In fall of 2009 my family was able to read and review the official book by Sue Patrick as a part of the TOS Homeschool Crew. We tried the tubs on a shelf for my oldest during the review. It lasted only a few days before my toddler of the day (child #4) was making a mess of the whole setup. We then moved to a crate of hanging file folders for my oldest child, which worked well. Read my review here for all the details and pictures.
In January of 2010 we created the Family Workbox, which was the crate with file folders holding things for our family subjects. I now had 5 children ages 8 and under. Read my introduction to the family workbox here.
In July of 2010 we came to the system still in place today. We had taken some time off workboxes just prior to this as I struggled through severe morning sickness with another pregnancy, but that was easing and it was time to get back in the swing of things. Read the post introducing the setup here. Each child received a crate with hanging file folders, and we put them on a beautiful shelf like so:
We still use that configuration now, nearly a year later. It works for us!
